pcv valve issue
5th of June 2014 ... Number of Responses 1 --
After overhauling my engine on my 06 nissan lafesta because of worn rings and valve seal there is still whitish blueish smoke at the exhaust, I was told that the pcv valve was stuck so I replaced it and the smoke at the exhaust still continues.

It seems strange that after all that work that you would still have oil burning issues unless it is left over oil in the exhaust from the prior problem - see if it resolves itself in a couple of weeks with the new PCV. If not then some work will be required. Logically the PCV Valve would have been the last problem but since you have changed that, it rules that out. To resolve, basically will have to diagnose the problem. If smoke is more present during startup after the vehicle has been sitting a while then that would suggest the valve guides. If the smoke is constant while running then that would suggest the engine repair may have some issues. A compression test / leak down test should be done on each cylinder to check for leaks. If the engine has a turbo, then there may be a blocked line building up pressure in the crankcase. Good luck.
